March - A Wonderful Month

March came and went so fast! We had a wonderful month.

It was kind of strange having Easter so early this year. The weather was cold and it didn't feel very much like spring. Nonetheless, we had a good time. Here's a few pictures of the kids decorating their eggs. Grandma and Aunt Hannah came over to decorate with us. It was a messy fun time! Dad had a good time posing with the kids and trying to startle little Joel. Josh thought it was best to hang out with Grandma (where it was safe!)

Easter morning, the kids didn't rise with the roosters this year. We actually slept til about 8:00. We're claiming that as our own Easter miracle. Even with the extra rest, Dad pooped out on us in the afternoon. Here he is asleep sitting on the floor vent in the kitchen.

Joel and Joshua were bright eyed on Easter. They were cute in their little golf shirts and khaki pants. The other kids also had a good day hanging out together. Boppa and Mia also joined us for the day. It was nice to have family around!
The week after Easter, Hannah had Spring Break. I took this picture of the clan having lunch in the kitchen. I didn't want to forget these precious years while they were still little enough to fit around the small table. Lunch is a production with six children. There's always something interesting that happens!

Another fun thing we did this month was visit the aviary. The aviary was free to the public on Mr. Roger's Birthday, so we spent the afternoon there and Mia joined us. Nathaniel was selected to feed a bird in the tropical rain forest. The prerequisite was that you had to have no fear of holding live worms. Nathaniel was the man for the job. This little bird flew right down onto the rail and ate several worms from his hand. The kids also got to feed the lorries sweet nectar. After the aviary, we went to the children's museum across the street.

Joel had a great time at the aviary taking in all the sights and sounds. Josh, on the otherhand. . .well the photo speaks for itself.

Other highlights this month include a visit to Waynesburg for Mark and Rachel's birthday, Hannah playing a lead role in the Spring Production at her school, Nathaniel learning to ride a two wheeler, Joel and Josh learning to sit without assistance, Isaiah moving on to a new violin piece, and Eliza learning to pronounce the f sound. What a month!
Seriously, it was a wonderful month. Starting with Olivia's Birtday all the way to the 31st, our month was filled with adventures, learning, and family. It couldn't have been better!
