The third week in May found us lounging in North Carolina. Annually, we visit the Outerbanks with our extended Baily family. This year, the weather was warm enough (for some of us) and the kids, despite the cold water, had a wonderful time in the water. Isaiah, Nathaniel and Jonathon loved boogie boarding and were also introduced to skim boarding. The girls, Eliza and Rachel, enjoyed the water, but even more the sand. Baby Mark was a natural at the beach. He loved the water like a little sea turtle. And Joel and Josh, well, they found the water shocking, the sand interesting and even a little tasty, but mostly enjoyed their time back at the house crawling after each other and eating Cheerios. This is my favorite picture from the beach this year. That's Boppa chasing after our one dollar beach ball. The wind really took off with it and there was no way he was going to recover it. I'd say it might have been my best dollar spent. I got a kick out of seeing Boppa swimming after it in the 60 degree water!

Isaiah is modelling his new wet suit for us. All the kids loved their wet suits. I think it made the water much more bearable.

The following is a mini story from the beach. I'll call it Joshua and Joel meet the Ocean. First, Boppa makes them comfortable in their double jogger so they can get a great view of the waves.
Not finding the waves interesting enough, we try to interest them in crackers. Here they are lounging and snacking.
After getting a bit antsy, Mia takes them for a stroll down the beach. What a workout!
And now, that's the end of the story!
Boppa and Mark thought it'd be great if they could look like twins too! Aren't they cute together!
Mark has amazing blue eyes. That hat really makes them stand out!
