Birds. What a better sign of spring? We have delighted ourselves in watching our feathered friends return. We've observed robins nosing around our yard, and house finches visiting our feeder. Just yesterday, we had two mourning doves perch on the underside of our porch. They were so close that we could make out all their details. Joel and Joshua loved watching them!
Another thing we've been observing are deserted nests and birds gathering supplies for their new homes. Last Wednesday, the children were assigned part of their morning to think like a bird and head outside to find bits of string or grass, dead leaves and other "goodies" along with some mud to create their own nest. Here are the results.
