Now here we are, eighteen months later. It's amazing. In such a short amount of time these two rascals have learned to chatter, feed themselves, run, and scheme. They find themselves in mischief everyday...be it climbing out of cribs or under gates, tearing up books, emptying shelves. They are partners in all kind of Baily household crime. And we are delighted with them.
Today, I took the boys to their well child visit. The doctor commented that they are doing great, and he chuckled at their amusing antics. Even now, the boys are only four ounces different in weight, Joel at 24 lb. 2 oz, and Josh at 23 lb. 14 oz. They are the same height and developmental level. It's amazing for fraternal twins that they are in many ways so similar.
Afterwards, Dave and I met up at the pet store for a rare twenty minute outing with just the twins. They loved all the animals, especially the rowdy dogs. Their faces had smiles the whole time. Standing awestruck by the parrots, Josh reached out his little hand to try and touch one. Joel was busy traveling from glass case to glass case looking at ferrets, guinea pigs, and parakeets. It was fun to be able to focus on them alone and to enjoy their fascination with all the animals. It was wonderful!
